The Yard Driver is responsible for maintaining timely movement of inbound and outbound trailers. This position will remain on site property (does not travel on a public road).Key Responsibilities:* Use a spotter tractor (yard truck) to move trailers between docks, storage areas, and other designated locations within the yard* Ensure trailers are correctly positioned at loading docks for efficient loading and unloading of freight* Assist with maintaining a well-organized and efficient yard layout by strategically positioning trailers and equipment* Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while operating equipment and working in the yard environment.* Perform interior cleaning/washing of trailers* Ability to communicate effectively with team members throughout the warehouse* Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of their spotting equipment* Perform additional duties as assigned by managementKey Requirements:* High School Diploma or GED required* 21 years of age for non-commercial license* 2 years of experience driving similar type of equipment preferred* Ability to follow work procedures and safety rules* Ability to read, understand, and follow directions/instructions* Valid driver's license for types of vehicles to be driven* Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, stretch, step, climb and/or sit frequently or through the duration of the shift* Have appropriate eye, hand and foot coordination to properly use various equipment and/or tools* Ability to load/unload, lift/move equipment/product which may weigh up to 100 pounds* Pass all company testing* Must submit to OSHA Powered Industrial Truck training and pass associated tests* Ability to accept supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits and attitude* Ability to function as a team member and get along with othersThis job description is intended to provide a high-level of general requirements for this position.
